The San Antonio Breastfeeding Coalition (SABC) is dedicated to breastfeeding awareness in the San Antonio area. Our mission is to promote, protect and support breastfeeding through education, outreach and advocacy.

The following are specific goals identified for 2010:
1). Obtain 501c3 Non-for-Profit designation through the IRS
2.) Secure and maintain funding to support:
-Grant/project funding
-Budget training in the grant writing and research training
-Continue identifying fundraising opportunities
-Seek sources of on-going sponsorship
3.) Organize and host San Antonio's annual International Quintessence
Breastfeeding Challenge
4.)Develop and purchase promotional breastfeeding banner
5.) Organize and host a breastfeeding seminar for professionals in 2011
6.) Continue updating and maintaining the SABC website (sabctx.org)
7.) Revise, print and distribute the San Antonio Breastfeeding Directory
8.) Continue to offer "Give More Get More" Breastfeeding Infomational
Presentations at SABC meetings
9.) Assist the Texas Department of Health Services (DSHS), the Center for
Disease Control and Prevetion (CDC), the United States Breastfeeding Committee
(USBC) and other partners by continously disseminating breastfeeding information and
by promoting programs and initiatives which improve breastfeeding outcomes in maternity
and infant health services
10.) Participate as an exhibitor at the 2010 International Lactation Consultant
Associantion Conference and Annual Meeting
11.) Implement SABC Scholarship Committee
